Q: WHAT IS THE ACCURACY OF YOUR MEASURED BUILDING SURVEY SERVICE?
A: In general, our Measured Building Surveys are carried out and drawn to a scale of 1:100, showing features of minimum size of 5cm and with an accuracy of 10mm for hard details and 50mm for soft details. We can however customise the accuracy of a Measured Building Survey accordingly with your specification, budget and scope of the Survey..

Q: WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY INCLUDE ON A MEASURED BUILDING SURVEY FLOOR PLAN?
A: Floor plans are an essential element of a Measured Building Survey as it shows an accurate representation of the layout of a building and includes all the information gathered during the survey. They normally include all main walls, partitions and columns; door and window openings with cill and head heights; ceiling heights, overhead beams with underside heights, skylights; any steps/staircases; main service inlets, meters, boiler and hot water tank position. We can customise the details included on a Measured Building Survey accordingly with your specification, budget and scope of the Survey.

Q: WHAT IS AN ELEVATION?
A: Elevations normally forms part of a Measured Building Survey. An elevation is a view of a building seen from one side. They are normally measured and drawn showing all openings, material finishes if required, external pipe work, architectural features and their orientation.

Q: WHAT IS NORMALLY INCLUDED ON A ELEVATION?
A: The level of information shown on elevations can vary from basic outline with door and window opening and ridges to full detailed drawings showing all openings, material finishes, external pipe work, architectural features and their orientation.

Q: WHAT IS A CROSS SECTION?
A: Cross sections, or sections, are vertical ‘cut throughs’ of the building and can be prepared at any point in the building.

Q: WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY SHOW ON A CROSS SECTION?
A: Sections drawings are prepared showing all accessible structural details of a building and are used to show the relationship between different levels of a building. They often include an elevational view of the architectural elements beyond the cut line.

Q: WHAT IS A TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY?
A: Topographical Surveys or Land Surveys are accurate representations of an area and are used to show all existing natural and man-made features, including buildings, land features and physical boundary details, on scaled drawings.

Q: WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY INCLUDE IN A TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY?
A: The level of detail included in a Topographical Survey depends on your requirements and scope of the survey. Normally, a Topographical Survey includes any existing building and structures, boundary details, level heights, surface features, visible services, drainage, manhole and gullies location and orientation, tree positions, street furniture, etc.

Q: HOW DO I OBTAIN A QUOTE?
A: Simply call us or email us with the address details of your building and/or site. Please include as much information as you might have: existing plans, even if not to scale, and photographs are always of great help. An experienced member of our team will assess the project and provide you with a fee proposal, details of our survey and timescale.

Q: DO YOU OFFER NATIONAL COVERAGE?
A: Yes, our Measured Building, Topographical and Land Surveys service offers national coverage. We have a network of 100+ surveyors across the country. Normally our fees are inclusive of any travel expense.

Q: HOW SOON CAN YOU SURVEY MY PROPERTY?
A: We aim to survey your property within 1 week of receiving your instruction. We will then send you the draft plans within 4-5 working days of the survey end, depending on the size and difficulty of the building. A faster turnaround is also available for an additional fee.
